Much Respect | DJ Tim O

Hi there disco boys and girls-
A large part of my music taste is influenced by other DJ's online sets and podcasts. One amazing podcast my friend Andy Lax turned me on to a couple years ago was by DJ Tim O. Tim is a DJ from New York, and his podcast is on iTunes. Although I had been listening to his sets for years, I had never been able to track him down. Luckily this year, I ran into one of his friends Rich Lee in Provincetown, and Tim and I were able to connect online. His story is very familiar to me, and we have quite a lot of musical taste in common!
What started out for Tim as a basic love for music while growing up, has progressed to making mixed CDs for himself and friends (much like me), and now into a passion for performing live and sharing his music with others. Tim loves the process of finding new music, crafting the songs together into a single free-flowing set, and then seeing how people react.
In terms of his music, Tim's into a wide variety of sounds - anything from club to pop, or house to rock. He listens for songs that have catchy beats, smart lyrics and memorable vocals, and most importantly, songs that can move people.
Tim seeks inspiration from several DJs / producers, including Danny Verde, Steve Pitron & Max Sanna, Abel, and Yinon Yahel. Each have completely different sounds, but all produce incredible music, spin amazing sets, and definitely have moved Tim over the years.
Tim has developed a strong fan base via word of mouth and the Internet, and is now establishing his name in the NYC bar / club scene. I see big things from this great guy and wonderful DJ! You can download his podcasts here.
I hope you take some time to listen to another amazing DJ who has a very similar style to my own, and who definitely deserves Much Respect!
