Hey there disco boys and girls-

Recently, I've been reinvigorated by the European house scene once again.  Artists like Avicii, Kaskade, Sultan & Shepard, and Benny Benassi have been making some truly interesting music.  This month I wanted to further explore some of their sounds.  My podcast is full of big room, progressive tunes that just make the speakers vibrate.  That's why I wanted to call it "Shake it Out" (and Florence's tune makes an appearance as well).

Hey there disco boys and girls-

The end of the year is here, and looking back this year really seemed like something special.  From the unbelievable amount of DJ's who became household names, to all the divas and pop stars who enlisted club producers to make their singles, 2011 seems like the year dance music truly took over.

Even after regular podcasts, there were dozens of tunes that never made it into any of my mixes.  So my year end mix is chock-full of all my favorite tunes that I didn't want you to miss out on.  Starting with some bouncy, fun pop music at the beginning, the mix heads into a heavier and sexier direction, and even winds down with quite possibly the most important pop song of the year.  I think it's pretty great, and I hope you do too.

Podcast | 11.11 - SESSIONS: with DJ Russ Rich

Hi there disco boys and girls-

This month, I wanted to revisit one of my favorite podcast series - SESSIONS.  I started doing this series because I wanted to collaborate with DJ's I love and respect.  My first podcast was with DJ Brian Maier in January (you can download the podcast here), and this month, I'm working with another amazing guy - DJ Russ Rich.  

Russ and I have a very similar style - we both love vocal, progressive, and upbeat dance music.  I've been fortunate to DJ with Russ quite a few parties together, but I also love hearing him spin.  He has an amazing energy and connection with the crowd, and you can always tell he's enjoying the music just as much as everyone dancing.

The intent of our podcast was to take two hours of T-dance music we both love and create a uplifting journey for you to enjoy.  Everything about our podcast was a team effort.  From the song choices, to the order and the mixing, to even the cover art, this entire project was an amazing collaboration.

Hi there disco boys and girls-

For this month's podcast, I thought I would revisit my "House Arrest" series and mix together some of the house music classics that were truly influential in my early days as a little raver boy.  

In the late 90's and early 2000's, disco and funky house music were taking over the European house scene.  Dance music heroes such as Roger Sanchez, Joey Negro, Basement Jaxx, and Daft Punk were making incredible songs one after the other, and they truly influenced my growth in dance music.  This podcast is chock-full of songs that inspired me to learn how to DJ and share music that moved me.

In this mix, you'll find original house cuts that have been sampled over and over, and will hear disco, funk, soul, and even gospel house blend together.  I am very proud of this mix, as it truly represents "Where I Come From".  I hope you enjoy it!
